Joy for the Joeys

Well done to our Mini Colts; a shining light for the Mt Barker Football Club, winning the only Premiership for MBFC in season 2018. Pictured here are the “Joeys” with coach Simon Nunan, and Runner Ollie Small in their post match celebration.

The Final score.

Lachlan Murphy was awarded best on field in the Grand Final.

Well into the final term and the Joeys scored a clutch goal; knowing that the flag was in their keeping, the boys performed an interesting “NFL” style goal celebration.

Roos Captain, Patrick Tidemann accepts the Premiership shield and flag from HFL official, Owen Lamshed.

Mini Colts in action at Hahndorf Oval

Simon Nunan’s mini colts are the last Barkeroos team standing in the race to the Grand Final. Let’s get behind the “Joeys” this Saturday at Hahndorf Oval, Mt Barker play Blackwood in the Preliminary Final. The winner goes on to play Hahndorf for the Premiership next Saturday.  Match commences at 8:30 a.m.

Congratulations to Patrick Tidemann #9; last Monday Patrick was awarded the Mail Medal for the Division One mini colts. Patrick polled 42 votes out of a possible 54. He polled in 17 of the 18 matches during the minor round. What a fantastic achievement. Here’s hoping the Joeys get through this Saturday and Patrick can add icing to the cake with a Premiership next Saturday…..!!!

Windy Hill Woes

Pictured:  Henry Johnson lays a strong tackle on Uraidla’s Luke Thomas.  The Barkeroos lost their Qualifying Final by 28 points to an ultra determined Uraidla at Windy Hill on Saturday. The Roos now face Blackwood in a cut-throat first semi final at Uraidla Oval this Sunday. Clint Rogers’ Reserve boys fell agonisingly short against Blackwood at ABLE Storage Oval today and that ends their campaign. Paul Watson’s Junior Colts had a narrow win and also play next Sunday at Uraidla.  Simon Nunan’s mini colts will feature in the first match of the day on Saturday at Balhannah (V Hahndorf).

Pies Too Hot

Top of the table Hahndorf were too good for the Barkeroos to the tune of 34 points at ABLE Storage Oval on Saturday. The Roos remain second on the table and have a MUST Win game in their final round against Onka Valley to ensure a qualifying final berth. Pictured here is “Bustling” Billy Stokes breaking a Hahndorf tackle and negotiating some muddy conditions.

Congrats to Tyson “TJ” Scott on his 150th appearance for the Seniors. He is pictured here giving former Crows star Matt Jaensch the slip.

More Roos junior and seniors action to follow. Check the Web site again later on Monday.
