Mount Barker V Torrens Valley

Roos v Lions

Be at Mount Torrens Oval this Saturday (18 June) when the Mount Barker Roos take on the Torrens Valley Lions. Mini colts commence at 8:45 a.m.  The “A” grade commences at 2:30 p.m.  A MUST Win game for the senior Roos as they sit in 6th place and they take on the Lions who are currently 3rd.  The Roos defeated the Lions in the first round by 6 points.

The Mount Barker Football club was well attended this evening (Sportman’s night). Special guests being Essendon 400 game player Dustin Fletcher, & 300 games from Port Power Kane Cornes. (Pictured) Dustin Fletcher with Max and Tim Glover.

Tyson Scott gets a handball away despite some attention from Uraidla’s Will Young. The Roos were defeated by Uraidla 12.12 (84) to 9.10 (64); played at Uraidla Oval.  More Reserve grade and senior colts action pics to come…stay tuned.

Tom Hughes battled on all day. Hughes also rated highly in the Roos best players.


Luke Giles consistently won the ruck duels to advantage for the Roos.


Sam Hammond was the Roos most productive forward on the day booting 3 goals.

Malcolm The PM meets Malcolm The Pres


Mount Barker Football club President Malcolm Williams dream of a Regional Sports Hub on the Stephenson land is a step closer after a flying visit from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. Also pictured is local Federal Member, Jamie Briggs. Mr Briggs emphasized that a re-elected Government would provide a substantial grant of 3.75 million dollars towards a function centre and clubrooms being the cornerstone of an important AFL development.
